Our AEMT course consists of building upon the basics of EMS through a minimum of 281 hours of education, with 60 hours of required ride time though students are invited to do more than the minimum necessary.  Classes are lecture based with interactive presentations team taught by experienced providers.  Students attend lectures, practice skills and participate in team based scenarios reinforcing class subject matter. In addition to fundamental anatomy and physiology, AEMTs gain an additional training into advanced airway management, pharmacology, IV access, and medication administration.  Classes are taught for the adult learner and tutoring is available to those who need it. Students should have an NREMT - EMT certification and some prior experience before enrolling in this class.

The cost of the National Registry Practical exam is included

The cost of the National Registry Written exam is included for Vermont residents

"The primary focus of the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance.
